VIRAL SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL VIDEO CAMPAIGN

“Combating violence against women in Italy must continue to be a priority. The starting point is the education of young people so that future generations can live without fear. One must be indignant to the growing statistics and for this reason The Circle Italy asks that maximum attention is given to this issue, so that women victims of violence feel no longer alone, they come out in the open and fight for change.” said Antonella Antonelli, Director of “Marie Claire Italy” and founder of The Circle.

Our protagonists are wearing Guess denim jeans and are blindfolded with a red wrap. They tell us actual data about gender-based violence in Italy, a phenomenon that is far from being defeated.

In Italy almost 7 Million women suffered some form of violence over their lives.

21% experienced sexual harassment

One out of five women.

One.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Five.

One out of ten women experienced sexual harassment before 16.

One out of twenty

Is a victim of rape or attempted rape.

And more than half of these was commited by a current or former partner.

Compared to 10 years ago

Sexual violence cases decreased

And reports to the law enforcement have increased

Thanks also to campaigns like this one.

But it’s not enough,

Together, we can accomplish much more.

We are all responsible for a change.

May 27th is Denim Day

Wear your denim

And help us stop the violence.
