BALKANICA

A filmmaker decides to go back to the Western Balkans, where in the nineties, during a decade of wars, she began to collect the footage to make a film, that she never finished. To resume the ranks of the unfinished project and to recall moments of the past, she used the pictures taken decades earlier. She starts from the last place she visited, but the reality here is not similar to her memories.

The memory of war is impossible to erase. It remains on the streets, in the buildings and in people’s minds. It always reminds us what humans are capable of.
